At Queen's Park Tuesday, the opposition was disputing government claims
related to the KI dispute.

NDP Leader Howard Hampton, who visited with jailed Chief Donny Morris
last week, asked Aboriginal Affairs Minister Michael Bryant about a
proposal put forward by the Band to end the Platinex dispute . Hampton
says government claims about the proposal are being contradicted by
Chief Morris.

But beyond that visit Bryant says discussion on the proposal was
extensive and was responded to in several ways.

Despite a ban on politicians visiting the community imposed by the KI
Band, Bryant says he looks forward to visiting there again and he
offered assurances a solution to the dispute will be found.
